Prof. Yuntai Chen is Academician in Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) (1991); Academician in The Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) (1999); International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) Fellow (2015); Honorary Member in Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) (2018) .
Prof. Chen currently is the Senior Chair Professor at College of Earth and Planetary Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Honorary Director and researcher at Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration; Honorary Dean and Professor at School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University; Honorary President of council at Seismological Society of China; Honorary member in National Committee at China Association for Science and Technology (2011); chief editor of 《Earthquake Science》, chief editor of 《Acta Seismological Sinica》&《Translated World Seismology》, associate editor of《Chinese Journal of Geophysics》, Editorial Board of《International Journal of Geophysics》etc.
